Asrock 990FX Extreme 4 Dr. Debug code 00

Am getting Dr. Debug code 00 on the mobo. I have am building 2 machines at the same time so have 2 mobo, 2 cpu etc.

I have tried every permutation combination but still get code 00 on the mobo and no display.
Can someone plz advice what am I missing.
Since I have 2 items of each component, highly unlikely both are faulty.

Hardware I am using:

1. Mobo: ASRock 990FX Extreme4 (http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/990FX%20Extreme4/)

2. CPU: AMD Sempron 145 Single-Core. (Its listed as compatible on the mobo cpu support list: SDX145HBK13GM)

3. Memory: TeamGroup Elite 4GB (1x4GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C9 1333MHz Single Channel Module (TED34GM1333C901)

4. Sapphire Radeon R9 290 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card. (Attached the monitor and this card with a hdmi cable for display to work)

5. 16GB usb 2.0 drive to boot/install ubuntu.

6. PSU: BeQuiet Dark Power Pro P10 1200W '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply (The only connection I have done between the PSU and mobo is the 24 pin connection)

After I plug in every thing and click the power ON button on the mobo following happens:

- CPU fan starts up.
- Display card fan starts up.
- There is no display
- Dr. Debug error code = 00

I have checked the following:

- CPU has no broken or bent pins and fits properly in the slot
- CPU model is support on ALL bios version of the mobo
- Did a CMOS clear multiple times
- Checked that the mobo error code means cpu failed to intialize.

I might sound a bit odd to go back to the shop I bought all this hardware and say all of it is faulty (2 mobos or 2 cpus).
I must be missing something here

You need to connect both
24 pin ATX power connector
8 pin 12V power connector

Without the 8 pin 12V power connected there is no power to the CPU.

thx. now getting a d6 error code, still no display.
Since there is no onboard display (this is my understanding on this mobo) I am connecting hdmi between the graphics card monitor. Do I have attach a power cable to display card even if its directly mounted on the mobo in one of the 16x pci slots?

Reseat the graphics card , make sure your power connections to the card are plugged in correctly.

Am a noob on this forum. Accepted the solution from #Calvin7 about plugging in the CPU power supply cable which solved the 00 error code. Now am getting d6 error code.



Which power cable should I put in, 6 pin one or 8 pin one. Manual for R9 290 does not say much about external power cables.
Added a pic as well of the card with 2 power sockets. Also the card is directly mounted on the mobo.

Thanks. Connecting both 6-pin and 8-pin in the gpu got rid of the error codes and display is working.
