I want to see more duel processor boards that are gamer friendly like these. I know I know, packing cores is better. But I want my cpu(s) to crank numbers like never before and be able to do lots of things in the background without slowing to a slug...

[citation][nom]carcharocles_theory[/nom]@LORD_ORIONYou realize AsRock IS Asus, right? They're Asus' budget brand.[/citation]
No, they are NOT! Asrock was split off quite some time ago. They are a wholly independent company now.

[citation][nom]simple_inhibition[/nom]heh, look what pairing up with fatal1ty got abit....[/citation]
I was going to say the same thing.

Fatality is like the kiss of death for any company. Abit? Gone! Creative? Gone nowhere since 2004. And Asrock? Well that's the icing on a turd sandwich.

When I see Fatal1ty, I head for the hills!

You forgot to include XFX - they suddenly ended up making the mistake of not going with Nvidia chips - they are struggling with selling amd hardware - reference PCB's and a standard cooler - with no or a minimal OC.

Is this tool failtality still relevant anymore? It seems like an excuse for companies to put a sticker on a product and jack the price up 50%. Asrock is supposed to be the budget conscious version of asus... stay that way.

[citation][nom]ProDigit10[/nom]Where are intel or AMD with their true "System on a chip"?Modem, lan, wifi controller, audio chip, all on die with the cpu, in such a way that they can get rid of all those externa; controllers, sucking up power, and using up valuable latency!Audio applications could go so much faster with dedicated hardware built directly into the CPU ring (like VST's could work better). Latencies could be reduced not only from audio, but also networking latencies; which are currently the biggest issue for slow working webpages! And although creating a massive chip that will replace 90% of onboard hardware, will result in slightly worse CPU performance, it might increase program response (programs that are depending on internet, audio connections, etc...); plus Intel or AMD could not only create all these chips at 32-20nm, but also powergate them, making them so much more energy efficient![/citation]

That is complete BS.
How are you going to connect all the controllers to the cores? with an interface right? Well there is your CPU interface on the motherboard.
You might as well make a huge CPU metal cap that covers the entire motherboard and call that your ideal CPU with everything included.
what utter BS.

[citation][nom]GeekApproved[/nom]Love Fatality products and love Asrock mobo's. What a great combination.[/citation]
Obvious shill is obvious.

I was talking exclusively about companies that carried Fatal1ty's branding.

BFGtech is also dead, but they can't blame that on Fckdtotaly.

I think what prodigit was referring to is creating a multi purpose controller and no it dosnt have to be as big as the mobo but it was reduce latency from the controller to proccesor

hmmm - hahaha

I haven't purchased a single Fatal1ty product on principle alone. I don't want some other dude's name all over my stuff. Not to mention, all the "ideas" this kid suggested won't make much of a difference in-game and they substantially add to the cost of the board. There's a reason most reputable board makers don't include useless crap... it's because they use that money on quality components and quality assurance.

[citation][nom]Waethorn[/nom]3 separate orders of 3 trial motherboards with different chipsets, and all 3 of them failed, and we're not ordering Asrock brand boards ever again![/citation]
We all have different experiences. In my case, I have a 939Dual-Sata2, an AliveNF6G-VSTA, and a M3A770DE, and havent had one problem, other then a USB port on the 939 going bad. Then again, the board is close to 7 years old, and I more then put it through its paces. I guess my point is, everyone's mileage may vary...

[citation][nom]carcharocles_theory[/nom]@LORD_ORIONYou realize AsRock IS Asus, right? They're Asus' budget brand.[/citation]
As others said, they used to be, but now they are their own entity.

You realize AsRock IS Asus, right? They're Asus' budget brand.

As another user pointed out, They parted a big while ago. Since then Asrock got better and Asus got crappier. Since Asus parted, they advertised technologies on their motherboard, technologies that were not at all present. Furthermore, I didn't have problems with Asus boards when they were allied and now, Asus boards are causing even more other problems like:

if you plug a non-asus front-usb cable on an Asus board, the whole computer MAY not even post... I've seen that happen on 4 different board&case combo... :-( I will NEVER buy ASUS anymore, being for myself or my personnal customers.

BUT I bought Asrock for me customers on the budget and they're all perfectly happy with 'em as I am with my Asrock-4CoreDual-SATA2 board.

Hate compagnies advertizing features totally absent from their products. Even Asus' own customer service is crappy...

[citation][nom]wolley74[/nom]hmm, 8 core support? sounds like it'll be ready for bulldozer[/citation]
ha ha ha....intel's 4 core will still be faster.......it's the truth
