So im building a new pc and im using an asrock h97m anniversary motherboard and im confused about which drivers i need to download and install.

I will be using windows 10 64bit so i need help figuring out which drivers to install. From what i understand i need chipset, lan, audio and another one (i cant remember right now lol) but when i got to asrocks website and look at the windows 10 64bit drivers i got very confused about which ones are which and which drivers i need. Please help!

Never run a BIOS update unless there is a problem with your current BIOS. BIOS updates are mostly just for adding support for new CPUs on old boards. If the board POSTs with your CPU, then you don't need to update the BIOS except under very rare circumstances.

The LAN should work automatically.

The audio should work automatically.

The chipset driver is a part of Windows. You never need to install one. In fact, "installing" a chipset driver doesn't actually install a driver; it basically just changes the name of the Microsoft default driver's company to Intel.

The only driver you need to install is the graphics driver (it is listed as VGA driver in your link) and that's only if you will use the integrated graphics. The default...
If you will use integrated graphics, then you want the VGA driver. If you want more control over your audio, then you want the Realtek audio driver. As for the rest, you probably won't need to download them.

The chipset does not need a downloaded driver. That is built into Windows. The Ethernet and audio are also built in and you only install new drivers for them if you want more functionality (better control of audio features) or if you experience problems (like Ethernet not working). My own computers mostly use the drivers that Windows came with for these.

For learning what each one does, you can Google the names and explanations will be in the first few links that Google finds for you.

Im doing a fresh install of windows 10 home 64bit. My mobo isnt even out of the box yet as i am not building the system until 9-17-2016 and so im wondering if i can just build the system, boot up, install windows and then will i need a lan driver or which ones will i need. Do i need to do a bios update? Sorry im just very new to pc building.

The default Microsoft graphics driver doesn't support games or anything very well. The audio driver would also be a good idea, though again, it is not necessary.

Many parts of PC building are much simpler than they appear to be and this is one of them :)
