Hello
So I was wondering, Trying to flash my mobo to fit the 5000 series.
However I flashed using 3.00 version from within the BIOS.

I now realize you should do it from a bootable USB stick. (Used a 2600x Pinnacle Ridge)

The BIOS does state that it is currently version 3.00 but still not working with 5600x

Does the bootable USB stick way do something different?
If so.. Can i do this step now even though i flashed already?

Edit wrong Bios version in one spot.

No, you're absolutely right!

Using 'instant flash' to update the bios, with a Pinnacle Ridge in the socket, will make it appear as if you're now running bios rev x.xx as intended... except that the support for Vermeer does not work.

Reason: Parts of the bios, containing cpu support info, isn't actually being overwritten during the instant flash updating. You have use the USB bios updating procedure as described in the bios release notes for that to happen.

Running the USB update drops the entire bios image, so it's fine doing it again, if you've used the instant flash tool already.

If same BIOS version there's no difference where it gets it from. Only difference may be if you update from BIOS (over internet) newer version may not be available on that server. My Asus shows 2 BIOS versions behind one available on Asus site.
Yes, you can re-flash BIOS if necessary.

Yeah,, But Asrock specifically writes that you need to do the Flashdrive boot version if Flashing from Pinnacle Ridge, which I missed.

Makes me wonder if that method does something differently than updating from within the bios itself.

Good for you (I almost RMA'd my Ryzen 5600x as dead-on-arrival before figuring it out)

Be mindful that ASRock have recently included the »To support Renoir/ Ryzen™ 5000 processors, it requires to update the BIOS with Matisse CPU.« in the descriptions for all the latest BIOS revisions, but haven't included the reference to the Pinnacle Ridge/Picasso flashing procedure. Not 100% sure what they mean by that if the board is already running a Ryzen™ 5000 enabled BIOS version and a Ryzen™ 5xxx CPU.
