Hi everyone,
I am a first time Asrock user and this is the first time I use a board which on Auto runs at 99.8 BCLK instead of 100. Surprisingly There is no Spread Spectrum setting in the bios.
In previous motherboards I dealt with, the BCLK was always on 100, but when looking at HWinfo the frequencies (CPU, RAM) would "zig zag". For example in 3600mhz RAM you would see 1800...1799...1798..1805.. In this motherboard the clock is rock stable, it won't flactuate like this during operation, but it has a constant 0.25 clock reduction.
Even when setting the BCLK manually to 100 doesn't change this behavior. It always clocks it down 0.25mhz.
The only way I can make it run at 100 is to set it manually to 100.25.

It's not a big deal, just a little annoying to see my clocks run slower than they should.

Well..any insights? I read about Spread Spectrum, but isn't it supposed to cause a slight frequency fluctuation? My motherboard has a static 0.25mhz reduction in the BCLK, simply gives 99.75 instead of 100. I can increase it to 100.25 to correct it, but I am not sure if this is ok or not.

I also read somewhere that disabling virtualization feature can fix this.. can anyone confirm?

After consulting with Asrock support, they say that this is normal behavior for their motherboards, but the didn't give much details for why this is so.
I just wonder if this is the case for their higher end motherboard also or just the lower tier ones.
Someone here with an Asrock motherboard that can add to this thread?
