50GB disk space & a i7 lol to funny do they not realize even a lowly i3 pretty much has more horse power than either of the CPU's in the PS4 & Xbox one. I'm sure my overclocked i5 & 8GB video card will be fine..lol

I don't think you understand, games on the PC require a lot more processing power because of how they are designed and less optimized.

With this vRAM getting high, I am glad I bought an R9 390 with 8GB vRAM.

Thanks for the advice to go for the 390 instead of the 970. Looks like that 3.5 VRAM is gonna get filled pretty fast in the next couple years.

Indeed it does seem so. As a matter of fact, if Syndicate uses more than 3GB on 1080p, then on my 1440p it probably uses around 4GB already.

BTW did you build it yet?

interesting to see games breaking the 3GB VRAM level, guess 4GB and over are the only cards now worth getting for future releases.
We still need to figure out if Assassin's Creed Syndicate or indeed any Ubisoft game at all is worth getting in the first place.

Assassins Creed is still a thing? After Desmond dies, and Black Flag that made no sense after I completed it I was lost as to what the hell is the point of the game now

I'm picking up a 980Ti in the next couple months, almost entirely because of the 6GB vRAM. That's future-proof stuff right there. Should be the last video card I need for three or four years, hopefully.

Shots fired! I think the only people buying Assassins Creed are youtubers and twitch streamers. Games so boring you'd rather watch someone else play it!

In the next couple months, the 980Ti would be superseded by Nvidia Pascal. Better to wait.

If you keep waiting for the next big thing, you'll be waiting an eternity, because there's always a new "next big thing" right around the corner. Just gotta dive in eventually. 980Ti's a great card and I look forward to it.

GTX 760 (4GB), 970 (4GB)

Something's wrong here... Since when is a 760 anywhere CLOSE in performance to a 970? Dammit Ubisoft!

Well that just killed all my motivation to get the 970 over the 390.
If you haven't purchased one yet, then just wait for the new Nvidia offerings. You will see greater performance at a similar price point.

I think they're just including the lowest card from the 700 series that has 4 GB RAM. Its processing power is probably enough already, 970 is more than needed but also listed because it's popular and has 4 (yeah yeah I know, 3.5+0.5) GB as well.

As a 970 owner: damn new consoles and their amount of combined RAM, now game developers won't optimize VRAM usage for years.

How poorly does a game have to be optimized to need 3gb of vram in 1080p?
1080p used to need 1 GB in most cases, 1.5 in extremes when game optimizations were decent (not even amazing, just decent).

But after BS like arkham knight... Good im getting old for gaming, or Id be quite angry.

Hopfully the game runs at 60+ FPS with antialiasing ON with my core i7 4770k & Asus GTX 980 TI strix OC.

At least you got past the intro. Got bored after the lengthy intro that i started to play in AC3....i think it was...., that i got free with a vid card. Don't like games that hold my hand like that. If i wanted to watch a movie i'd do so.

If the requirement is simply to have 3GB of VRAM, surely a 960 4GB will do if they can say a 760 will. On the AMD side, the 280X is hardly cutting-edge stuff anymore but isn't worlds better than a 760, so the 960 should be a viable card.

The minimum CPU specs look a little odd when compared to the recommended specs. The i7-3770 will be a decent amount faster than the i5-2400S, but the 6350 and 8350 shouldn't be anywhere near that difference. The i5 does have an aggressive turbo (3.3GHz vs. 2.5) I suppose.

I can't believe I just bought a gtx 960 strix in February and I can't play a new game in Full HD the SAME YEAR! I'll have to buy a ps4. I'm not spending 600$CAN on a graftx card to have to change it in one year. What's it take for Ubisoft to optimize for maxwell Nvidia cards anyway?
