asus a88x-plus wont power on

I just got an new case, motherboard, and cpu to run with my old gts 250, 500w coolermaster psu and 16gb of ram, after plugging everything in the system will not power on, the standby power lights up and the dram error light flashes for only a fraction of a second as do the fans attempt to spin up so quickly it looks like they are being jerked forward, i dont know what the problem is everything seems to be connected properly (unless im missing something really really obvious) and i dont think it is the power supply since it worked a few hours ago and is a quality psu. i really hope this is not another doa motherboard.

tried pulling the gpu and see if the onboard video works with one ram stick. if it does see how old the bios is. check that the mb not shorting to the mb tray or the shield.

Already tried as you said running nothing but the bare minimum still no power on. i dont think it is shorting through the tray, not sure about the sheild i didnt think that was even possible, how would i know if its shorting through the sheild?

sheild fails into the usb or ethernet port and shorts them out. try the mb outside the case to see if it a short. also check the vendor mb cpu list see that your cpu and the mb work together and your mb has the right bios rev to post.

Just checked, everything is clean :/

just curious, does shorting usually cause these kinds of issues? BTW im using a silverstone rv05 case

try the mb/cpu outside the case with a test power supply. if there no post outside may have bad cpu or mb or bent pins under the cpu.
