Asus says its new Q-Release Slim graphics cards removal mechanism does not damage graphics cards to a degree that they stop working. The company advises following the official removal guidelines.

This new slot "feature" is going to come back to bite them when graphics cards start failing, and the GPU vendors refuse to RMA them because of the physical damage, that is not a result of a manufacturing defect. Asus is going to have a massive class action on their hands to replace all the GPU's that their motherboards damaged.
