Hello,

i got an Asus EAH5850 and i was wondering if it would make sense to get a second card for a CrossFire build or just getting a better card?

Cheers Phil

They are a bit out dated by now, but are still good cards. I would say it depends on how much money you have to spend. You need a decent PSU for a Crossfire setup.

Go for another Asus EAH5850 , they are pretty good in CF. If you have a mobo that supports quad CF then you can always upgrade to another one a little later and then another one a little later...:)
But the pair will rock a rig even in todays times with the games nowadays.

mh weird stuff is that the price range differs from 130 - 270 euros. But the cards have the same specs. They only look different

Yeah, as the cards get older, there are more varieties in the market, the basic difference would be the cooler then the slight speed variants, then Name (Brand) and warranty.
But overall they have to be in line with the reference PCB. So basically you can go for one that has the closest clock speeds or the same as the one you have and see to it that it fits your case.
