I did not say that having Hyper threading on was giving a better score, Just that the change in the hyper threading was causing the variable. Besides ITB really is not a bench mark tool, It is meant to stress test the CPU for stability and to burn in a CPU, Cooler and Thermal paste combination.

I think that the 760K as of now is the best for gaming with a FM2+ motherboard right now, in terms of price/performance. I think that APUs are not really ready for hardcore games yet, 720p high settings or 1080p med-low settings on games like Skyrim or Mass Effect really isn't going to cut it. I have a A8 5600K, I got it for free at the AMD Fan Day in San Fransisco; it isn't the same level as Richland but still even then afaik from benchmarks I have seen the APUs are not ready yet. I think excavator will really be when there is a good enough APU, the CPU will have better performance and the die can be smaller if they shrink down to 28 or 22nm leaving more room for the GPU as well, and by that time we should see much better graphics as GCN evolves for the GPU side.

Unless ASUS knows more than us and that AMD is going to be releasing a powerful FM2+ CPU coming out soon. AMD isn't giving out much about anything but that might be to avoid the Bulldozer hype-train for future products. ASUS is smart enough to know that as of now there is almost 0 market for this board, no one wants/needs it. Maybe if it was in the Mini-ITX form factor like the Maximus Impact (Z87) it would be significant but I'm not holding my breath on that. Now that we are out of fantasy land I am pretty sure it is just to satiate AMD in making sure that there are gaming options for APUs
