I purchased this video card about a month ago at 128MB ram.

Its performing pretty bad... my friend has a FX 5200, and he says UT2004 runs smoothly on max settings. I have max settings, but it doesn't FEEL like its running smoothly... it fluctuates a lot in framerate... Whats going on?

My motherboard supports a max of AGP 4x, but I don't think that could be it...

It skips and it doesn't run really smooth, whats going on?

Does anyone know why it might be performing worse? Even with all settings at minimum, I only gain 10 fps, which still is only 20.

before ya load up the game make sure windows doesn't have any uneccassary background programs goin in your task manager. I have ut 2004 on my 866 with a gf 3 and levels are set at medium with very little lag if any. Also how much system ram do you have?

I'm using an Athlon XP processer, 2400+, running at 2.0 gHZ.
I've got 768 megs of ram.

What else do you need to know?

What your case temp is, what your cpu temp is, how fast is your ram running...

But most important of all of them, download motherboard monitor and tell us what your temps are!

Motherboard monitor?

I don't know how to find temperatures.. I might have PC2100 ram, but I'm not sure... I'll check when I get home.

You find the temperatures with monitoring software like... you guessed it... MOTHERBOARD MONITOR!

I installed MandrakeLinux 10.0 last night... Installed UT2004 today.

its running at superb speeds of 40 fps or so on max settings... so its probably something wrong with windows.

Most likely you had lots of crap on your windows machine
Make sur your AV is not running use a program like spybot to clean the spyware and such there is a little guide I think its in CPU section how to`"tweak" your PC might help some...

my friend has a FX 5200, and he says UT2004 runs smoothly on max settings.
Am I the only one who caught this?
