I had a feeling someone was going to say that. But if Asus is taking over Giga and its not a merge(not sure exact details as of yet), then im sure it won't matter cuz they probably will slowly phase out the Gigabyte boards.
A joint venture does not mean that the company has been taken over. It just means that they are going to be working together real closely. So Gigabyte has not been taken over.
Interesting, and logical. Rather than fight for market share in the highend arena take it all. Gigabyte seems to be the more adventerous of the 2 introducing the 4 PCIE slot board the Quad Royal. ASUS now has a 4 PCIE board in the wings also. They are going into the workstation market bigtime to compete with TYAN and Supermicro.
Ok Intel, who you gonna merge with!!! Oops almost forgot that new shiny alliance with Apple. I just love this stuff.
