Will a Asus gtx 950 work on a 250w psu?? I'm looking at the 75w one which takes power directly from the PCI-e slot on the mb
My PC specs are
Intel i3 530 2.93ghz
8gb ram
500gb Seagate HDD
Win 7
Intel dh55tc motherboard
Iball lps223-400(250w)
Please tell me... Thanks

Yes the GPU will fit in the case.

However, 250w PSU is not enough. I would not suggest it at all.

But to be honest, it would actually work. It might have stability issues though, and very slim chance of damaging some components, so I'm not recommending it at all.

You could look for a higher wattage PSU if you want. There are cheap ones like Corsair VS450, EVGA 500B, but don't expect good reliability from them as well. Here's a sample vid of my VS550 having reliability issues, http://sendvid.com/v83ajb9p

If you will opt for a good quality PSU, it will cost a bit more, but they're a lot better. Any XFX or Seasonic PSU is sure to have a great quality.

You can, but remember that it will potentially damage your components and cause instability to your system.

Ok...but the above specs I mentioned should keep the card and the components intact right... Ill only play watchdogs or gta 5 for 2 hrs a day.. I don't think its much of a gaming load..

"You can", and "You may", are two totally different things.

2 hours of gameplay means 2 hours of continuous peak usage for your CPU and GPU. I believe that PSU is a few years old now is it? Its capabilities have surely degraded by now.

I thought it was already clear that potential damages may happen in your system. It's not safe to use that PSU with a GPU. You should really buy a new PSU.

Watch this vid again. http://sendvid.com/v83ajb9p
Expect that to happen very often.

No.my CPU will bottleneck the GPU right..
So the GPU will not use even 75w power...the problem is I can't buy a new PSU only I can buy a GPU..u suggest a card which uses less power but delivers the same performance.. Plz

Theoretically the gtx 950(white) should work fine as the card just takes 75w power and the i3 530 takes 75w=150 the hd,DVD rw drive should make it to 250w. The PSU is only 3 yrs old it should work fine without the blue screen of death coming

no, you assume it can actually deliver its rated wattage

that unit is garbage, should not be trusted to run a lightbulb

I'm telling that because I have a en210 silent which also has a tdp(upto 75w on nvidia site) I checked the gtx 950 also. It has the same wattage. I ran games like nfsmw2012,GTA 4,GTA SA,Prince of persia. All ran fine without crashing or frying the whole PC...

that 210 is a htpc low profile ~30w card

gtx 950, or rx 460 non 6-pin versions

but like you found out, even these require at least a decent psu

which you dont have
