asus gtx 980 ti strix no display black screen

OKay, here goes. Trying to install a new ASUS GTX 980 TI today after replacing my R9 290.
Display is blank. Power is connected correctly. Asus strix light comes on and stays on . Fans blow for a couple of seconds then turn off.
Psu is corsair cx600 (600w).
Cpu is Xeon 1231 v3
MOBO is ASROCK h97 fatality.

Writing this now after reinstalling R9 290

Thanks. How do i access it. Do i just hammer f2 during boot or is there another way?

whatever button it used to tell you to press when it showed the bios boot screen. in most cases it's F2 yes.
