Asus GTX760 green vs. red light

I bought this graphic card few month ago, and I tried to plug in 6+2 pin without success. Then I plugged in one 8 pin, that has two 6 pin on the end. And it worked, but there were red light. Then I read somewhere that there is a green light too, so I got confused. I searched a bit, and I found that it is needed green light. So I tried again, and successfully plugged in 6+2. What do you think? Was red light bad? Graphic card always worked without problems...

if it works don't question it. make sure your psu is compatible with the gpu (powerful enough n so on)

you need plug in all the power present on the video card.
I have a ASUS GTX670 and if the corresponding LED is red means there is no 12V going in to the port.
both LED goes green once i plug in the 2 6 pin on the card.

I have the exact same card (Asus 760) and my light has only ever been green. I plugged in both branches of the power cable into the PSU
