Hi guys, as title says im planing to buy this card, i have a gpu asus strix gtx 970 with a mobo asrock z77 pro 3

Buying this mobo Asus Maximus VII Hero would make any difference ingame? i mean will i get more fps?

Nope.

Motherboards don't help much with the frame rate, if they help you will get around 3 fps more (or less) with high quality motherboards.

You choose a motherboard for its features like good VRM, many SATA ports or PCI-Ex slots, etc.

dude i have exactly that cpu, i5 3570K, its on support list of this mobo too...would that cpu be ok for Asus Maximus VII Hero ?

Asus Maximus VII Hero is Z97. You want a Z77. Your motherboard is fine really and so is your cpu.

I would think that no, your going to need to buy a proc and mainboard to do that upgrade as your current proc is a lga1155 socket and the new motherboard proc would be a lga1150 socket. Your at least in for a $450 upgrade at that point and the performance different from the generations of processors is ~15% at best assuming equal quality processors. Your games are probably not cpu constrained atm anyways due to your gtx 970 being a decent card.

I would suggest you buy a second GTX 970 card and sli them at a lower cost than the motherboard and processor but the asrock z77 pro 3 is not capable of sli as the second pci express slot is only rated at 4x and not 8x. So possible upgrades which could help would be more ram if your below 8gb atm.

Aww true, i didnt know that mobo wouldnt support my cpu lol thanks u saved me 😀

Yea, i didnt notice that about my cpu :/ its not so old i didnt imagine its not support , anyway i think this cpu is still good

ill try to buy mobo and cpu at same time, then a second gpu maybe..so expensive all 😀 more here in argentina i could buy a car with all this money lol
