Question Asus Motherboard Bios Voltage Graph Is Red

Evening everyone,

Last night I entered the bios on my old pc and realised that there is a red graph in the voltage section, see attached picture.

I hardly ever entered the bios but I'm pretty sure it wasn't red previously as it being red is what caught my attention.

A few months ago I did update the bios from whatever version it originally had when I purchased the motherboard back in 2014 ish to the latest version available which is 2901.

The motherboard is an Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 and the CPU is an AMD FX 8350.

The PC itself still seems to work as it should.

While taking the photo, I did notice that the red graph turned blue for about 2 seconds and then went back to red again.

The picture was taken from a cold boot so it's not a result of the computer being switched on for a while first.

Has anyone experienced this before? could it be caused by the bios update? or could something else be on its way out?

Thanks in advance for any input

Yup, junk PSU is what I would expect, unless the software is reading the voltages poorly (which is absolutely possible). If more parts, like the PSU, were identified, we may be able to provide more specific advice.

Thanks to everyone who replied,

The PSU is about 8 years old, it's 700w, I'm not a gamer so if I recall it was only a cheapy £25 job at the time,

I've never really had a problem with it before and it used to be used daily, so it's not done bad for a cheapy, probably sounds sad but I dismantled the PC once every year, including stripping the PSU, then used a can of compressed air, a new toothbrush and a set of those carburettor cleaning brushes to clean all the fans, heat sinks etc and inspect for bulging capacitors and brittle wires etc.

I switched to a notebook instead of the PC, now I miss the PC so was planning on stripping it to sell the parts and building something that would run Windows 11, I guess the plan now is to buy a PSU that I can use to test this board and then use in a new build.

Would a 550w/600w PSU be OK just to test the Sabertooth board with? as the new PC was just going to be basic so wasn't intending it to have anything over a 600w PSU,
