Asus p5vd2-vm + core 2 quad?

Hi,
So I just bought a core 2 quad Q6600 for a bargain on ebay, to replace my ageing pentium D. However I checked the asus website and it would seem that my motherboard doesnt support anything other than dual core...
so my question is: Is there any way of using this processor with the motherboard (asus p5vd2-vm)?

p.s. I have flashed the bios to the latest version I found on the asus website.

I don't think it'll work but you better e-mail ASUS support to be 100% sure

The core 2 quad q6600 will work with the mobo asus p5dv2-vm everything works fine temps are at 23C
