Question Asus ROG STRIX B650E-F GAMING WIFI. CPU Power confusion. Need help.

I'm installing Asus ROG STRIX B650E-F GAMING WIFI . The power supply is Thermaltake Toughpower GF A3 850W.

There is are two power connections on top left of the mainboard. one 4 pin and one 8 pin.
The power supply has only one cable that is suitable for this. and it has two 8 pin ends. Motherboards manual isn't very clean. is the 4 pin power connector optional?
Shall only connect the 8 pin one?

ok . it seems one of them can be splitted in two. So I splitted it and connected that one too.
Am I correct?
I haven't build a new system for a while. I am a bit out of the loop. Sorry for simple questins.

yes. use one of the split one for the 4pin
