I have an Asus RT-N56U router. it's brand new. I've been using it for less than a week, and now the connection drops off every ten minutes. My laptop will fail to load things. disconnecting and reconnecting doesn't help, the only thing that works is unplugging and replugging in the ethernet cable to the router. There is no modem, there is an ethernet jack in the wall. It's not the wall jack, I surfed the internet for an hour with the cable plugged straight into the laptop. It's not the laptop, as other devices like my smartphone have the same problem.

How can I fix this, preferably without sending the router in for warranty.

AS a side not the router will not disappear from my computer (like when I go out of range), but refuses to load things, and then says limited after a while

Thanks all

You may need a firmware update to help with connectivity issues. You can check the newest firmware version here to see if your version is outdated:
