Hi everyone,

I have searched and searched the forums but have not been able to find a solution to this issue, so I'm posting it here in hopes that someone knows a solution to this. We have an Asus rt-n66u dual band 3x3 wireless n9000 router connected to a motorola surfboard sb6121 modem. On average, every couple hours all devices will drop connection for 2-3 minutes, then all will reconnect automatically. There are two desktop PCs connected via a wired connection, and two laptops connected via wifi. The disconnects seem to be completely random, and not tied to anything we do. They are extremely frustrating, as they often pull me out of online games. Please help us out, any answers will be greatly appreciated.

How does it drop? on all devices? when it drops i would log into the router/ or look at the router lights and see what is going on. If anything i would Check for firmware update. if there is i would do a factory reset, then update firmware, then redo your settings. if there is no update i would do a factory reset.

I would also check modem lights. If the upstream/downstream lights are not green then it is a modem issue.

Thanks for replying! I paid attention to the way it's been disconnecting. First, the connection goes offline. After about 10 seconds, the modem will completely reset itself. All the lights will go off except for the power, and then it will start booting up again. Here are the logs for the last disconnect:

Yea it is not an issue with your router but your modem. If the modem is provided to you though your ISP I would contact them. If it is something you bought and if it is old i would replace it or if it is new check to see if it under warranty still
