Recently upgraded from the hardware I'm now trying to use in another rig. Just got this power supply, tested it by jumping the 4th and 5th pin. It turns on. When I plug the 24 pin what happens in the video happens. Currently installed on the motherboard is just the cpu. A Ryzen 7 3700× I've pulled it out to check for any damages pins in the socket or on the cpu and as far as I can tell they seem fine. Anyone have any thoughts? It was all working a few months ago.

The manual says Q-code 00 isn't used. Seems like it's probably shorting out but I don't know where to even begin looking for what might be causing it?

Edit: just swapped cpu into another motherboard I have. Turn the PSU on and it still happens 🤔 we thinking it’s a psu issue?

Q-code 00 is normally CPU related even though it says "not used" It "is" used.

Even ASUS own website says that code 00 is most probably a CPU problem.

Well ..., don’t like to hear that lol I just don’t know what could have happened from then to now 🤔 I took this motherboard out, with the ram and cpu still in their slots and put it in my new motherboards box before storing it for a couple months to now. Not sure why the cpu would all of a sudden die in a cardboard box 😞

It might have not had anything to do with "between then and now" and might have just been incidental. IDK. IDK anything about anything. I just know, this crap happens and it happens exactly how I am telling you it happens, but you never really know. Just, WTF?

That's pretty much the same thing I say every time something doesn't just "work" and I've been doing this for more than 35 years, and it STILL happens from time to time. Just, it is what is is, sometimes. But mostly, it shouldn't be, and if it is, these days, it's USUALLY because something is bad right out of the box. And it COULD be anything. That's WHY we say to test with minimal hardware so that we can eliminate things.
