Hi i just want to kno if its possible to get a faster processor, its a asus x550c I just want it to be a little faster and I dont have the money to buy a new laptop, or else i would have spent more then 500$ on a laptop its about 6 months old.
No. If you change a soldered CPU the chances are very good you will not find a BIOS version that supports it for your model. Swapping out soldered cpu's just isn't feasible. It would cost more than the unit is worth. Save your money and buy a faster unit or get an SSD, that's probably your best option for speeding it up. The addition of an SSD will likely give you a better speed increase than any of those processor upgrades would.
With what? That it's pointless to try and change a soldered cpu or that an SSD is a better upgrade? Either way, I don't see how you could have a valid argument for your position but you're entitled to your opinion.
Obviously the OP is not an electronics guy so he will need to pay somebody to take the laptop apart, do the labor AND pay for a CPU that is likely to cost more than the laptop is worth and far more than just installing an SSD would cost. And that's assuming he can even get a bios for his model that will work with the new cpu. As a project for yourself, it's a fine upgrade I guess. As a recommendation for somebody without technical expertise, it's a poor recommendation.
I didn't mean that he should buy a new CPU (I don't even know if you can actually buy new mobile CPU?). Second hand CPU should cost less than 100 dollars. Plus around 50 dollars for replacement in a normal repair shop. By normal I mean the one that does not rip you off.
