Currently using 2 NVME drives on a Asus Rog Strix B450 F Gaming with a Ryzen 3700x.
Top slot is a 256gb NVME Boot drive. And I know using this slot disables sata ports 5/6 on the motherboard.
I have a 1tb NVME I use for all my editing in the second slot which drops my graphics cars slot from a 4x16 to a 4x8. The performance loss for my 2070 super wasn't more than a few FPS which I can deal with.
I'm upgrading to a Asus X570 Prime Pro and a RTX 3080. Am I also going to lose sata ports on this board like my B450? And will using the second slot cause a bottle neck for
my graphics card slot with a 3080?
Im still not sure how all the PCIE Lanes and stuff works.
Asus Rog Strix B450 F Gaming
Ryzen 3700X
16gb Trident Z 3200
Gigabyte 2070 Super
Samsung 970 Evo 256gb NVME(boot)
WD Black 1tb NVME
