Asus X99-A Won't Turn On

First post here, and at my wits end.

I've had this build for 2.5 years now, and never had any problems with it. The other night I put it to sleep and the next day it was off. I pushed the case power button and nothing happened. I opened it up, tried the motherboard power button (LED's for the power button were still on) and it wouldn't turn on. Unplugged the computer, popped out the CMOS battery, waited a few minutes, plugged it back in, put the battery back in, and when I pressed the power button it turned on and got to BIOS. I booted from my SSD, and everything was good. UNTIL I turned it off again. Same issue, and every time I want to turn it on I have to go through that same process. I've replaced the CMOS battery, checked all of the connections, unplugged everything, got it down to just my CPU, 1 stick of RAM, and my GPU. It'll turn on, get to BIOS, then when I turn it off it won't turn on again.

Am I missing something, or is my motherboard shot? Thank you in advance for your help.

Thanks for the tip, but it didn't work. New update, I don't have to disconnect the CMOS battery to make things work, I just have to unplug the PSU until the LED's switch off.

I'm having exactly the same problem. I have an X99-A/USB 3.1 that has worked for years and now won't turn on. Sort of. If I leave it unplugged for ten minutes then try and power it on then it will sometimes turn on.
