Hello and thanks for reading this.

I currently have a asus x99 deluxe II motherboard and a Samsung 970evo 250gb m.2 slotted into it.

I want to know if i can put another m.2 into it as I am looking to get a 1tb or 2tb m.2

I dont know much but I read something about m.2 that slot into a pcie slot.

Is that something that can be done with my motherboard and will it reduce the speed or the m.2 not being in a dedicated m.2 slot?

I hope you can understand this.

*also a recommendation on which m.2 would be the best overall. Price, speed, durability.

Anyways thanks in advance.

You can always buy a PCIe M.2 expansion card. As far as limiting speeds, its more about bandwidth it depends on how the PCIe lanes on your mobo are configured. Realistically unless you are using several PCIe devices at once(which includes your current M.2) you probably wont notice much in the way of speed loss.

You can also simply just buy some 2.5 inch SATA drives, although not as fast as NVMe PCIe ones for bulk storage and gaming they are plenty fast.
