asus z87 pro motherboard code 55 problem

Asus z87-pro motherboard, i7 4770k cpu, Thermaltake tr2 600w power supply, Crucial Ballistix Spot xt 2-4gb ddr3 1866 cl10 ram kit. new system. first post I get code 55. I get post memory check then code 55 and memory led is on. goes thought memory check and stops at code 55 Memory not installed. I am on 2nd set of memory kits. same problem. all fans run every thing is on. help.

have you used the usb flashback to put the newest bios file on the mb. does one dimm work?? if your still getting the error check the cpu for bent pins under it or a seating issue.

I not sure how to the flashback. I have never got it to boot to bios yet. I check the cpu could not see problems there.
I did try each dimm one at a time. Stile have code 55. Thanks

look at your mb serial number the last 4 number is the bios rev.
1602 is the last bios file for your mb.

what you do to use the usb flashback is download the bios file and the bios renamer under bios tools. then copy the file to a usb stick. with the power off and mb showing power good. plug the usb stick into the usb flahsback port and hold the button in for a few seconds. (uab flahback button). the button will go into a blinking mode for a few min as it reads and flashes the bios for you. when it done the usb flashback led will turn off.

Make sure you are insterting the memory modules fully - they should click on both sides of the slot. Some users don't push the EZ side of the modules down properly into the slot.

If it's not that, try one module only in each slot and see if the board will POST after you clear CMOS.

fix my problem. I had a bad channel a1 a2 on motherboard take motherboard back to get new. I had tested the b channel and when I did it booted up. Asus Support help me it today. and yes clear cmos
was part of it. Thanks for all of the help. "flyfish"
