Right guys, really winding me up this one.

Just built my first PC and everything working well apart from the USB mouse. It stutters/freezes for split seconds.

At first I thought it was only in Windows and so I did a complete reinstall only to realise that it is also occuring in the Bios! I am no computer expert but this sounds like a hardware problem?

Now I can't remember for sure but when I first booted up to the Bios I honestly can't remember the mouse misbehaving. Could I have damaged somthing on the motherboard?

Slightly interestingly the problem seems to be much worse when the mouse is connected on the front USB port. When connected at the back it is not too bad but crucially it is still freezing occaionally.

Any help on this one is appreciated.

Thanks

If problem occurs in bios too, you should probably update the bios version of your motherboard. Also, i would suggest you connect any other mouse laying around in place to see if the problem still persists.
