I would like to go with the cheaper of the two options here (the K version). Can anyone help explain to me in plain English just what exactly I'm giving up if I do so?

CPU: i7-4790K
GPU: GTX 750 Ti
Four hard drives

I plan on overclocking in the future, if that's relevant.

Solution
I doubt you would lose anything. The A allows 2 graphics cards at x8/x8 the K is really good for only one card at x16

FWIW, a 4790K is a very strong gaming cpu, and should be driving a card like a GTX970 if you are gaming.
For rendering, you are very good.

I'll be gaming, a little bit, but my modest gaming needs don't really call for a high-priced video card; all the games I'll probably be playing are like half a decade old. I figured even at 1080p the GTX 750 Ti should be more than enough. Thanks! I'll be going with the K then.
