ata100 and win2k

i bought a 30gig fujitsu ata100 hd, but i dont think its workin properly with win2k! what do i do? is fujitsu crap?

What is your definition of "not working properly"? Fujitsu is not one of the best HDD makers.

I just read a 'Microsoft Technote' that states windows 2000 (any flavor) does not support ATA/100 at this time.

there is a beta patch that microsoft provides but it is not supported.

ATA100 support will come in SP2.

Ok, this should fix your problem. Go to the link below. Download the latest via 4-in-1 driver and the win2k ata100 hotfix. Install them and post your results.

P.S. Has anyone ever had any problems (ie. data loss) when using the dos utility that switches hd's from ata66 to ata100 and back? I switched my wd ata100 to ata66 and am leary about going back now that the drive is full of data.
