I've been looking at getting a new CDRW drive, but am a little confused about the standards. Is ATAPI and E-IDE the same thing? I've seen some CDRW drives say ATAPI/E-IDE and some just say ATAPI. Thanks for the help.

Errr not exactly, but its not something you should worry about. All optical drives are ATAPI, a subset of the E-IDE ATA internface.
