Athlon 1.3GHz to be released Monday?

According to The Register, AMD will be releasing their 1.3GHz Athlon on Monday. I wonder if this is why they passed on matching Intel's price cuts? Sure would like to get that 1GHz CPU I'm about to buy a little cheaper.

Well they may be releasing monday, but you wont be able to get it for another couple weeks, so by then prices will fall with the higher clock cpu, most likely. So if you can wait, it will be worth it.

I wonder if the new Athlons will all be 133Mhz capable 'C' versions....

The 1.3GHz Athlon <i>has</i> to be running the 133MHz FSB or else it wouldn't get to 1.3GHz (mutliplier settings only go as high as 12.5).

Anybody heard if the new 1.33 Gig Tbird is the arrival of the Palomino lower-heat core, or is just the current Tbird core kicked up a MHz notch?

AnandTech is saying 1.33Gig Tbird release is false rumor and isn't going to happen anytime soon

In a few more weeks AMD will be releasing a 1.367 ghz w/ 266 fsb.
thats the one to wait for since you can get the board from asus or abit to support the bus.
