Hi, I got a AMD Athlon 64 3400 1024Kc FSB8400
and I order a Asus MB A8V Deluxe but someone told me that those 2 are not compatible. I want dual channel on my Athlon 64 and I thought this mb could do it. Can you suggest me something that would work, staying with my 3400+
thx a lot

The 64 bit processors have the memory controller built in, as far as I know. Since that is the case, you won't see dual channel with that processor.

heya dax;

The asus A8V Deluxe is a socket 939 board, you have a socket 754 processor, your choices are the Nvidia NForce 3 pro 250GB chipset, or the Via K8T800 Chipset. Asus makes both.

You can't use dual channel with 3400+. But no reason to be sad, dual channel doesn't have much impact on performance with Athlon 64 cpus

Yep.. what Spitfire said.. Socket 754 CPU does not support dual channel.
