This may be a dumb question, but I just want to make sure.
I can use this socket 754 chip on any socket 754 motherboard right? I have the Asus K8N-E Deluxe. It will work right? I just just wondering about the "Clawhammer" thing. Is it compatible with my mobo?

Thanks

Yes, it will work....

Clawhammer (130 nm) was merely the name/ version /variant of that particular core w/ a 1 Meg cache; the variants of socket 754/939 are called San Diego, Venice, Winchester, Toledo, etc., serve to identify the core (single and dual cores) along with die technology process (in nanometers)/ . There may also be various steppings, revisions , etc.

As long as it's a socket 754 Athlon 64 processor, it'll work on socket 754 boards...

ive got the 3700 clawhammer and can say its pretty damn fast, runs all my games at high settings with a shit x700pro video card, although system says its running hot its never been unstable, i think the temps are 10-15C different from what it reads (idle 50 full load 65) havnt tried to overclock it yet because i have a crap mobo, tell me how far u get if u plan on overclocking 😛... if u look at benchmarks the 754 cpu and 939 cpu both on socket 754 are VERY similar in benchmarks, most apps run within 5% of eachother, i think the 754 got higher on benchmarks than the 939, but in real world apps 939 beat it by a tiny margin, so if u wanna keep with socket 754 since u can get those on the CHEAPPPPP then thats a nice proc to pick...
