Athlon 64 MB with PCI Express?

I am trying to help a friend, he wishes to buy an ati x800x pci express based video card, along with a Athlon 64 fx for socket 939. I have been searching to see if i find a board that clearly sates support for Pci Express but have not found one yet. Can anyone recomend one for this sistem. Thanks in advance.

Eh well, this is my first post here, but I had to comment.

All of this THG happiness for 2 years about AMD seems to be obfuscated with the complete lack of mention of pci-express boards.

Am I the only one who sorta noticed that if I went out and bought a 939 3500 athlon64 that well, er, it really doesnt do much worth $346 dollars without a board that uses pci-express?

I would hate to be that guy in 2 years who says this,"Yeah, I can run longhorn fine!" and then his buddy says, cool, you can have my old x800 ati extreme if you want." And I would reply, "well, my board still is running 2002 high end graphics cards! woo!"

yeah. not much point there.
Also, there isnt much point in faster i/o with a hardrive either. Amazing to some on this message board, I know. Ever look at your hardrive lights when gaming, doing the web, using photoshop, doing business stuff? yeah, the thing nearly turns off

so, whats the point of 939 and spending 346 bux plus a 130 for a nice msi board, if it doesnt really do anything?

So my Intel fanboy, how much faster is the PCI-express 6800, Than the 6800AGP version?
When will Nvidia and Ati stop making agp cards.
To the first question, the express card looses a few points, to the second question, not for a while.
Pci express for graphics is a total waste. Agp was designed to do for graphics, what pci-express was designed to do for other add in cards.
SLI is the only bright spot, but that could have been done better with 2 agp slots.

Sorry I didn't answer your question. Thier are no mobos with pci-exp available at present for any Amd chip. Sis Via and Nvidia are all working on chipsets that will support pci-exp but there is very little demand, because there are so few graphics cards available. Expect the Nforce chipset to be available before xmas.
