Well people...
Our dear Athlon has been betten on more benchmarks.
I think it is due the low band width of the DDR,
Oh well we will just have to wait for the DDR2 (which is 3.2 g/s for a single Module !)
And than we shell see...
Maybe the palomino will kick p4 core?
But must aploud Intel for their fine engineering (ofcourse p4 cost like HELL ) Intell new core is "smart" design.
Hopefully AMD will come with an answer to this...

btw: i was in some Japanese site where athlon got to (non ddr) to 1559 Mhz ! (liquid nitrogen)

I think you missed Tom's point.

There are no losers. They both have thier stengths. You should decide which one to get based on what you will be doing.

Since there are DDR 500Mhz, there should also use DUAL CHANNEL momoring like rambus, that would not only improve bandwidth into higher values from rambus but surely kick their xxx.

Best regards

All it does it put AMD into a little bigger hole than they had been. They are on a bad streak of luck, what with the chipset problems and now these benchmarks. They do, however, have quite an ace in the hole if they can get an SMP platform going with the Athlon before the PIV gets there. That might help AMD's penetration into the high end workstation market that Dr. Tom mentioned.
