Athlon x4 @ 3.56 Ghz possible bottleneck

Asked in another thread about a GPU upgrade, got suggested to buy a 6870 but I wanna know first would my CPU bottleneck it at all? Also what type of card can it handle without any bottlenecks? Since I might get something better than a 6870.

CPU: athlon x4 @ 3.56Ghz
Resolution: 1080p

i currently have a amd athlon ii x4 645 at 3.1ghz and a sappphire 6870 and ive noticed no bottleneck... but im upgraing my cpu to an 8120 soon incase i decide to get a second 6870 or a single higher card.

Mhm kwl to hear, but things changed today. Added another 4gig ram and now my pc isn't stable with anything over 2.6ghz so now I run stock .

Will be taking that ram back as its clearly faulty but if it isn't, then how does stock 2.6ghz handle GPUs?
