ATI 6990 or 5970 + 5830

Well im back for more...

so... What you Ladies and Gentlemen think...

I have a ATI 5830... if I get a ATI 5970. I could use crossfire... total 4320 Stream Processing Units...hmmm

or should I go for ATI 6990 which has newer technology but only 3072 Stream Processors, of course my ATI 5830 will be unusable... no crossfire...?

yes and theyll be quieter and cheaper, plus theyll have more overclocking headroom

Two 6970's--so long as you've got the monitor hookups (check on display port adapters), they'll handle anything. Two 6950's even would top a 6990--at least if you overclock.

I strongly recommend you wait until a sale comes up to purchase your cards. The GTX 470 was $300 last year, but I picked on up in November for $196. You'll probably see Radeon 6970's below $240. So don't bother buying one at $300 when November is sooo close.
