This driver release does have an updated 2D driver. There should be another update to the 2D driver with the final release among other things.

As far as the leaked 10.5 driver, it's a fake. How can there be a 10.5 driver when 10.4 isn't even completed yet? That makes no sense at all. The only leaked version that was real was a 10.4b that was leaked like a week ago. But that leaked version had a driver date of 3/27/2010 and it didn't have a new 2D driver. The date for this preview is 4/6/2010.

So they did not fix the missing resolutions for some monitors yet ?

1600x1050 monitor can only go to overscan 1600x1200 or 1280x1024 with 10.3 same with the opengl 4 beta driver and nothing in between like the 9.5 to 10.2 default desktop 1440x900@60 / gaming 1600x1050@60 that my screen run on at this moment.
4800 to 5870 same results on xp, xp64, vista, win7 ultimate64 5x lcd's tested.

No fix for the HDMI enable / disable as primary instead of svga 15 pin old school primary only bug ?

while waiting for ati to fix the flicker problem, the quick patch though it does suck power, is to create profile(s) and set each throttle speed, idle, 2d (high), 3d to have the same memory as the 3d throttle (speed) setting

IE for my 5870 it would 1200 for all 3 (want 0, want 1 want 2), it works, and I dont have to wait for ati if i want to watch some HD or any app that throttles up the clock speed. (search how to edit ati profiles)

As i stated and I dont know why tomshardware didnt find this right away, its the MEMORY throttling that causes the flicker/tearing, once you have the memory running the same speed on all the 3 throttle settings you do not have it... of course this means more power consumption and higher temps, thats why i say this fix really sucks but if you must it works

too bad ati didnt fix there profiles to switch right, I might have to look for a third party app, cause i see the profile selection fail i mean you have to try to or 3 times

this is very obvious when your running 2 or more monitors when doing expanded mode
