Hey everybody, dumb question: How do I update the drivers on my ATI Catalyst Control Center? I just bought a computer that came with an ATI Radeon HD 5970. However, I think the CCC drivers may be out of date - Catalyst™ Control Center Version 2009.1006.2226.38455 Driver Packaging Version 8.663-091006a-090115C-Dell
Provider ATI Technologies Inc.
2D Driver Version 8.01.01.961
2D Driver File Path /REGISTRY/MACHINE/SYSTEM/ControlSet001/Control/CLASS/{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}/0000
Direct3D Version 8.14.10.0700
OpenGL Version 6.14.10.9030

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks so much!

To download the latest ATI drivers for your system go to amd.com and fill out the four drop down tabs with your computers information.

Driver Packaging Version 8.663... is Oct or Nov's driver.
Feb's drivers just came out yesterday.

Thanks for the info Paperfox! So when I do that, it brings up the option to download the display driver only and also to download the CCC. Do I just download the display driver as I already have CCC? And if I do, how do I get the new driver into my existing CCC? Also, is there anything else I should download to completely update all of my CCC drivers? Thanks again for all you help (I'm a noob, but learning!). Cheers!

I’ve always used Add or Remove Programs to remove the ATI Catalyst Install Manager and use Express Uninstall All ATI Software. Graphics drivers are the only drivers installed on my computer, this step could be a bit complicated if you have an ATI chipset and other ATI drivers that are not what you want to uninstall. Then I just Express Install the new drivers and restart.

I download and install the Catalyst Software Suite (64 bit) English Only (Option 1) and don’t go through the hassle of uninstalling/reinstalling each piece of the driver (DD, WMD, CCC). This is the method I’ve always used and had no problems with so far.
