ATI conflict with wireless mouse ??

Yesterday I received my new PC on which I use a Logitech cordless duo (wireless keyboard & mouse - on PS/2 for now).
everything worked fine during system init and OS installation.
After a while I added the Logitech software on my system and it worked fine.
Then I installed the catalyst drivers (I'm not sure of the version) and rebooted the PC.
Now, everytime I reboot my PC, the mouse seems to work fine for a few seconds, then once the ATI icon gets loaded in the Icon Tray (bottom right) my mouse hangs but my keyboard still works fine.
3 things happen:
1) The mouse hangs and never recovers (no error message or anything)
2) The mouse hangs and after a few seconds (~10) recovers
3) I get a weird Windows error message :

Runtime Error!

Program: ...ch\Desktop Messenger\8876480\Program\BacWe-8876480.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

This Desktop messenger is a feature of the Logitech Sw.

Does anybody has a clue on what's going wrong here ???

Sounds like you have BackWeb (spyware?). Read the following thread.

If the tips don't enable you to remove it then try one of the following programs (or all of them).

SpyBot Search and Destroy (my favorite).
Ad-Aware

I've heard of the following apps but never tried them.

SpyBuster
SpywareKiller (or SpyKiller, something like that).

Spyware Blaster is another kind of app. It tries to prevent spyware from ever being installed. (Haven't tried this one either).

hmmm sounds good.

Though it does not really explain why I see this kind of problems...

Well, as indicated by the run-time error you have an ill-running piece of software, which was installed along with your Logitech mouse software. The one piece of software may be affecting the other.
