Hello, I have a question concerning the ATI Radeon 9500 Pro 128, and the ASUS P4P800 motherboard.
I'm currently looking into getting barebone computer that includes the ASUS P4P800 865PE, and I already have the Radeon 9500 Pro 128 video card... now my question is this.
I have been told that there are problems with the 865 and 875 series and the older ATI video cards that include the 9500 and 9700 models.. something to do with the ATI voltage regulator, that for unexplainable reasons the voltage on the AGP port drops randomly... causing lockups or or random rebooting. Now, the vid card that i have is an OEM, or Saphire Radeon 9500 Pro 128 - which i'm sure is of worse quality.
I have seen the reviews on this site that use the ATI Radeon 9500 and the P4P800 motherboard without any mention of possible problems... does that mean it doesnt happen or is fixed with the latest bios/driver updates? Also I intend to use Windows 2000 Pro.
Anyone aware of this issue?
Thanks.
