Hi. I have an Acer PC (Acer Aspire M3201) which uses Acer made motherboard with ATI RS78+SB700 chipset and runs on AMD Phenom X4 9550. Acer only provide the Vista chipset driver. I have decided to ditch my Vista for XP after it failed to support almost all my old software (now only good for browsing). As it comes with SATA HD, I was informed I may bump into difficulties without an XP chipset driver. In fact all driver provided are for Vista i.e. the NVIDIA Geforce 8600GT, audio and network card. I had to go to the manufacturer of the graphic card and network card to download their XP driver. I hope to get some tips and advice on pitfalls waiting for me when I move from Vista to XP.
Thank you.

Lotsa help going on here!!!! I am speaking to you from a Gateway Phenom -X4 with the above mother board - using XP SP3 it can be done! I use 2 hard drives 1 for Millenium II (Vista64) and unplug it and plug it into another for XP where it mostly stays the hardest driver to find is for E-Net just google for yk51x86 and you'll find it, it's well worth the effort - the strange thing is mine came with a install directory containing WINXP SP2 wehich of course won't work.

by the way with this pc you can easily enjoy vista to its max i have returned back to vista after my successfull install of xp on this machine.. although it is still personal preference..

just checked no xp drivers for m3201 but however any generic can work for above chipset.. and can also be aquired from amd itself..
