Att: How do I build embassies?

Hello Folks,
It some time since I started Civ III and there's one problem that I've not
got round to solving. How do I make an Embassy? I say's to double click on
the Capitol icon. Is this the map icon? If so when I do it nothing happens.
I'm using a Mac......please don't start the mac v pc stuff. I use both. All
I want is to be able to build a embassy.

It's been a while but if it is the same command as PC then you need to
double click the Star under your capital's name. That should pull up the
embassy / espionage screen.

Create Spy option would only appear on the city that's built the CIA
small wonder.

It is much easier in Conquests. Just hit the "E" button, and everything
is right on the same screen.

It's the star in the city name/status bar, when you're looking at the
main map.

So do I, which is why I like the Mac that much more. I've been pleased
in this group that the mac-vs-pc thing hasn't come up, at least in the
couple of months I've been hanging around. It doesn't accomplish anything,
won't change anyone's mind, and just doesn't help.

Try clicking on your capitol's star when you're looking at the map
(rather than in the city screen). Might be double-click but I don't
think so. Opens up a dialog of "create embassy or create spy" if you
have espionage, or just the embassy choices if you haven't.

Or press CTRL-SHIFT-E to get to the espionage screen, this shows you all the
civs you have contact with and allows placing of embassies and spies. You
need the required tech for each (for embassies I think it's writing....),
and will need to pay out some gold.

(This applies to Civ 3 with the conquests expansion.... I think it's the
same for Vanilla Civ 3)

Check the civilopedia hotkey secion in game concepts. If it's the same as a
pc, shift-e should open a diolog box. Clicking the star next to the capital
city name also works.

Thanks for suggestions. I've tried double clicking the star, the capital icon
and the suggested key commands with no luck. Is this a bug of civIII (mac).
Can somebody confirm that they can make an embassy please (mac).

You have got the writing science advance, and have met at least one other
civ then?

By capital icon I think it means double click on your capital city on the
main game screen - look for the star to the right of the city name on double
click on that (thats the 'capital' icon I think).

Yes, I believe that I posted that I do it regularly on my mac. Do you have
the current patch? I can't imagine it'd be a bug, but can't hurt to
get current as a starting point.

There is the letter 'E' on the bottom right hand side of the screen,
just to the right of the info box. Click on the 'E' and then click on
the civ and choose the 'build an embassy' option and pay.
