Question atx 12v 8 pin question

my motherboard the gigabyte x670e aorus master has 2 x 8 pin connectors in upper left hand corner. my psu has two separte plug-in with their repspective cables to independatly plug into motherboard. are both of these neccessary?

Not necessary, but wise for the more power hungry CPUs. If you have them, plug them in.

Not to be confused with PCIe 8-pin (commonly 6+2), they are not the same as the 8-pin (Commonly 4+4) 12V EPS connectors

Its wise to read your manual, it will tell you if you can get away with only one plugged in. If it does not say anything plug them both in. Since your PSU has two cables, just plug them in. Its not going to hurt anything and if any bring more stability to the system.
