Audio Crackling/Popping Whilst Steam Games Open

Hi Guys,

Recently I Purchased an MSI GE62 Gaming Laptop, and i can't really fault it other than the fact, whenever I play games on steam (Havn't tested non-steam related games) I have a horrible crackling sound.

I Do not get these crackling sounds when a game is not open, for example when i play youtube or twitch i do not get the popping, its only when trying to play a steam game.

If somebody could help me i would be much appreciated.

If you use earphones, do you also get the same crackling sounds?

Have you tried going to MSI site and downloading most recent audio drivers for your device?

Yes i get the same with headphones

Try some benchmarks with music playing in the background. If it persists only when under high load I would say its either a poor power design in the laptop or a hardware fault. Popping and crackling under high load can be a sign of interference from the power circuitry.

Update, This also happens on non-steam games (But the sound only crackles on games) Spotify, Youtube, Twitch ETC. are all not affected.

and did you upgrade audio drivers straight from MSI website?

Yeah, Spotify, youtube, & twitch on there own are not high load. Try them with a benchmark running

Could try 3D mark or any game that has a demo

Find your model number. There is a few in that list, I do not know which one is yours.

If Audio doesnt have its own section for drivers, then it might be included in the chipset drivers.

But I have an MSI GE17 laptop and I know that had its own section for Audio...
