I built my computer new yesterday and it worked fine, then I got my GPU (ASUS GTX 760) and every time I boot my PC it goes to a black screen and at the bottom right there is "B2" and at the top left there is just a underscore, could this be a faulty GPU? And also I read online that people have had this problem too and they just updated their BIOS and they said that it worked fine after, I have a A75ma-g55 motherboard and my BIOS version is 1.0B6, I am trying to update it but should I update straight to 1.6 or should I go by the version/dates released (1.2 then 1.6) there is also a 2.0 BIOS version but it is a .exe file and I don't really know what to do about it.

One more thing, my CPU has an APU, if that would make a difference.
Also, I am on Windows 10.
Thank You for any help.

Each individual BIOS update is the full file you need, so you don't need to do increments.
I would try 1.6 first and see if it resolves the problem.. I do agree a BIOS update is a good first attempt at a fix.
If that doesn't do it, the you could try 2.0 but it's a bit of a gamble.
.. BIOS can't be reflashed back to 1.xx and it says for Windows 8 only, tho I'd take that with a grain of salt.

A "B2" error does seem to indicate a GPU card fault, and certainly an outdated BIOS could cause that.
Did the card work ok last time it was tried?

Ok, I will update to version 1.6. I called MSI and they said that it could brick my motherboard if I am on Windows 10 and updating to 2.0, its really confusing how they don't allow the most recent OS be updated to 2.0.

And thank you for your response

When I went into the BIOS to update to 1.6, it said to put the file into the root folder, and the update files were already there, but when I go to BIOS boot function it finds the files, what is the problem here?

I did that too but it still didn't find the files.

First it recognizes the USB (FAT32), but it doesn't reecognize the update file.

Yes the file is unzipped and the files are 7696v1x (text file), AFUDE238 (Application File), E7696AMS.160 (160 File). I formatted the usb like 3 times, but it still doesn't find the update files. Do you think I should just take the risk and update to 2.0?

No.
I'm not sure why it's not taking it.
You've read the support info on MSI's website..you're sure you're doing it right?
You could try doing the incremental updates of the BIOS and see if you can eventually make it to 1.6
If all that doesn't work, contact MSI again.

I am 100% sure I am doing it right, I was trying to do incremental updates but it still didn't work, it looks like I might have to contact MSI again. One more thing I am on BIOS version 1.0B6 should I try to update to version 1.0, if the bios would recognize it. Thank you for your quick responses.
