Question B650 Steel Legend - BIOS RAM Timing settings ignored?

Motherboard: B650 Steel Legend WiFi (Bios 3.16 upgraded to 3.20)
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700
RAM: Crucial Vengeance 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 6000MT/s CL30

This platform (AM5+DDR5) by default sets the RAM to 2400MHz (4800MT/s) with timings of 40:40:40:77 (CL40)

The RAM I have supports 6000MT/s at 30:36:36:76 (CL:30)

The Problem
I can set the faster RAM speed and timing either by loading the EXPO settings from the RAM, or manually. The settings show correctly in the BIOS, and persist across reboots. The system POSTs (after the normal RAM tuning delay) and runs normally.

However HWiNFO64 shows that the RAM is still running at the default clock rate and timings?

The developers of HWiNFO have confirmed that it reads the RAM timings directly from the controller on the motherboard, so the default timings are the ones that are in effect, even though the BIOS says otherwise.

I will log this as a bug with ASRock, but it's such a strange problem i'm curious if anyone else seen the same issue?

I think you meant Corsair Vengeance. Crucial never made a vengeance segment of ram kits. That being said, please pass on a link to the ram kit you're working with.

What does CPU-Z say?

You've stated updating the BIOS for your motherboard from 3.16 to 3.20, did you clear the CMOS after you've verified the BIOS was successfully flashed to the latest? Did you see the same issue crop up when you were on BIOS version 3.16? ASRock were reportedly having issue with their BIOS and another BIOS version was released toward the end of last month(or was it the start of this month, April?).
 
Yes, I did mean Corsair Vengeance, memory problem (mine...)

The RAM kit I am using is the CMK32GX5M2B6000Z30

CPU-Z says the same thing as HWiNFO, it reports default speed + timings. (Note, I would happily provide screenshots but that's not so easy on this forum)

The problem was occurring with the 3.16 BIOS. In fact I upgraded to 3.20 specifically to see if it would fix this problem.

No, I didn't do a manual clear CMOS after the BIOS update. It was my understanding that updating the BIOS would do a clear CMOS automatically. That's what the ASRock guidance for BIOS updates says, and it certainly seemed that way as it lost all my custom fan curves after the update.

If that's a potential issue I can do a manual CMOS clear. Losing all the settings again is a pain though.
 
Update-

I cleared the CMOS and re-added all the settings, including loading the EXPO RAM speed and timing.

As before, everything looks hunky dory in the BIOS, but when the OS boots the RAM is still running at default 4800 MT/s speed and timing.
