Hi all,

Starting on Monday our HP ProLiant Microserver Gen8 had began to BSOD. The logs point to hardware but wanted to see if someone could pinpoint what hardware it is complaining about.

Here are some errors below:

EventViewer:
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000080 (0x00000000004f4454, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 111518-20843-01.

There were 3 crashes last night alone and all are the exact same except for the timestamp. Ideas? Is this memory or something else? I ran memtest86 all day yesterday and no errors were found so I am confused on what hardware would be the problem. HDD perhaps?

bugcheck 0x80 NMI_HARDWARE_FAILURE
nmi = non maskable interrupt

some hardware failure that can not be ignored.

I would reset the bios to defaults and look in the windows event viewer to see if I could find out what is failing.

then start testing hardware components, check to make sure all fans are working, check power supply output, make sure there is no overclocking.
run crystaldiskinfo to read smart data from drive.

most likely going to be a device connected directly to the cpu. older systems have a memory controller that connects to the cpu and can cause this error.
newer cpu have the memory controller inside the cpu and would generate bugcheck 0x124.
we do not see many bugcheck 0x80 anymore, most of the machines have been retired.
