[SOLVED] Bad GPU performance after switching to an SSD

hi,
a while ago i made a post here about buying an ssd. i've gone ahead and done it, and... wow, that's quite a big difference. from 10 minute boot time to ~10 seconds. however, since switching to loading windows 10 off an ssd, games haven't been running very well. i'm not sure why this is because game that would run great before the switch (doom eternal, immortals: fenyx, destiny 2, aaa games) haven't been running very well since. from 120+ fps before, to 20-40 now. it seems to only affect some games? i really don't know what's going on. i'm pretty sure that my gpu is the problem, since it goes up to 100% some of the time in games which it never used to do before. i've also installed (and reinstalled) what i think are the correct drivers, so i'm not sure if it's a driver issue, bios issue, idk.

my specs for reference:
RTX 2060
i7-9700k
Corsair VENGEANCE RGB (16gb, 3600mhz)
MSI Z390 A-PRO
HDD: some junker off of ebay, i don't think it's relevant although it's 4tb
SSD: Sabrent Rocket Q (500gb)

less relevant specs:
g502
Corsair K95 RGB Platinum
g433
NZXT H510
Lenovo monitor (again, off ebay haha)

thanks for the help... i really hope i can figure out what's going on, right now i'm kinda limited to lightweight games like osu!, minecraft, cockatrice, etc.

Solution
What is the exact make and model of PSU you are using for your build? Is seems like your GPU is severely underperforming. This could be because it is not getting the power it needs. You could also make sure that all PCIe connectors are firmly attached to both the graphics card the the PSU. I would also reseat your graphics card, sometimes this solves some issues.

monitor connect to the gpu?
cpu/gpu temp and usage durng the game?
yes, the monitor is connected to the gpu. i don't have integrated graphics. cpu usage about 50%, gpu fluctuates between 80-100%. i've checked temps and they don't get high, and the fans don't spin faster (they did before the switch). it seems like it doesn't know when to "power itself up"?

sorry, they do have integrated graphics. i don't use them, because it's not the right ports (and also duh who would use that when you have a card). the cpu's base is 3.6ghz, it usually goes up to 4.9ghz. task manager reads 15.9gb of ram.

10 minutes boot time from HDD? Yikes. My old i5-3470 booted in about 2min back when I was still using a 1TB WD Black for my boot drive, around 20sec on my 1TB EVO860. You may be overdue for a fresh re-install to clear bloat.
the 10mins was an estimate including start up for applications, clipping service, and such. my pc was responsive after 10 mins, getting to the desktop was maybe 3 minutes. anyway, that was before switching to an ssd, so it's much faster now.

No, re-install everything. This maybe the problem

If you play mc then resource packs are fine but everything else needs to be reinstalled.
hi, i'm back. i've reinstalled windows. before i plugged in the ethernet cable, i installed the graphics card and intel chipset drivers (to ensure windows didn't automatically install the wrong ones). my performance is still bad, it might be even worse now. 30fps in runescape :( any more ideas on what to do? i'm pretty desperate here.

edit: to clarify i completely formatted my drive and installed windows onto that. i didn't do the repair installation.

yeah, i downloaded the intel chipset drivers and installed them. guess i'll just play games at 30fps with a $1500 rig... rip
Doing an userbenchmark test would help whats faulty, you did a fresh windows install, all drivers up to date, no heating issues, but maybe a faulty SSD?
The benchmark tests all your system, it will tell which one is killing the PC
